Organic Gardening Supplies
Gardening projects are not all created equal.
The success of any project depends on having the right tools for the job — this fact is no less true when it comes to organic gardening.
Organic gardening can be more difficult than traditional because there aren’t many shortcuts available like with other methods: anything used must fit both criteria (natural & chemical-free) and limited resources may hamper you.
Any remedy has to be natural and free of chemicals or toxins; which limits options for those who want an easy way out but still want results in their garden!
Fertilizers
Have you ever been unable to find an effective way of fertilizing your garden? If so, then compost is the perfect solution! It’s full of micronutrients which help plants resist disease as well.
Compost can be used in a variety of ways: plant mediums for pots and planters or mulch around different areas like flower beds.
There are also commercial products that help speed up the process by adding microorganisms to break down materials more effectively- but if it sounds too complicated there is always just plain old composting at home where all one has to do is let leaves decompose naturally without any added chemicals from store bought items!
Compost helps plants prevent fungus growth and insects while delivering necessary nutrients into the soil.
The best fertilizer for your plants can be found in a variety of forms. There are many convenient options, but you may also want to consider an organic option because it will provide the nutrients that all types of plants need. The type which is mixed at planting time and then fed as needed works well with fruits, herbs, or vegetables alike!
Natural methods can also include compost made from animal products such as guano containing bat droppings, and other less-likely things like chicken manure (gross) or even human urine if you are desperate enough!
Insecticides
If you have a small infestation and this is your first time dealing with it, try to remove it by hand. If that becomes too much for you however, then neem oil may be the best option as an all-purpose insecticide which kills mites and fungus while also killing eggs, larvae and adults.
Neem oil comes from the neem tree and is native to India. It’s both organic and biodegradable
Tools: Forks and Hoes
Head to your nearest garden center and pick up a trusty, forged steel fork.
Square or V-shaped tines with diamond tips work best for turning soil, digging potatoes out of the ground (when you’re ready), and even composting!
The hoe is a must-have tool for any gardener, as it can be used to plant seedlings and weed. Remember that you get what you pay for when buying tools; quality matters.
You can use it to dig holes, weed and chop down soil – you name it! One thing that I’ve learned when purchasing a tool like this is to buy something which will stand up against wear and tear. If anything, spend more on your gardening equipment so they last longer than expected because once you have them-you’ll be using these things all day long.
Other Tools
Tools like a good pair of gloves and mat or rolling bench will make gardening easier. You’ll also need to get your own tools including spade, trowel, shears for weeding, pruning saws (or clippers), secateurs or scissors with large handles so you can comfortably cut branches at ground level).
